Data Services

Overview

Pracbill is a telco billing system that enables telecommunications companies to efficiently manage and bill for data services such as broadband, NBN, mobile data, 4G, and other similar services. The platform is specifically designed to charge customers based on their usage of data, typically measured in megabytes (MB) or fractions thereof.

All imported usage records in Pracbill are automatically converted to MB to ensure consistency across the billing system. The platform offers a variety of features, including the ability to define base amounts of data included in a customer's plan or service, as well as additional data blocks that can be customized based on the customer's service type or service level. This flexibility allows customers to select a plan that meets their specific data usage needs.

Pracbill also includes features for managing customer accounts, generating invoices, and processing payments. The platform processes customer usage data in real-time to ensure accurate billing, and all customer billing information is stored securely to protect their privacy.

Setup

Data Feeds

In order to ensure accurate and efficient billing, it is important that the data feeds from carriers or internal platforms are initially set up with the assistance of Pracbill staff. This is because the platform is designed to convert all usage records into megabytes (MB), which requires careful configuration to ensure that data is accurately recorded and processed.

Pracbill staff work closely with telecommunications companies to ensure that all data feeds are properly configured and optimized for use with the platform. This includes setting up appropriate data conversion rules, mapping data fields, and testing data feeds to ensure that all usage records are correctly imported into the system.

Service Setup

In addition to the Service type if required for a special or custom deal, then these settings can be overridden in the specific service.

The fields display Default or -1 for the Cost to use the settings from the service type itself.

If you want to override it, to say $5 for 10GB data blocks and 400GB included it would look like this:
