Creating Service Types

Creating Service Types

In this guide, we’ll take you through creating service types to use within PracBill.

See the step-by-step video below:

Step 1: Navigate to the 'Service and Subscription Types' view

To do this, just go to Services (on the left) and then click Service and Subscription Types. Once you’re there, all you need to click is Create.

Step 2: Fill out the required details

You’ll need to fill out some details in this view to ensure that the Service/Subscription works as intended. We’ve put some key ones below for you:

Service Name - This is the name of the service. This will appear in PracBill both to you (and your agents) as well as to customers (on invoices etc).

Rate Code - This is how the service will appear in CDRs

List Price - This is the default price for the service. This price can be overridden by price books, or manually within each service.

Cost Price - This is your buy price. Adding this in will allow you to use the GP Reports to understand your Gross Profit better.

Call Type - This tells PracBill wether to expect calls records (as in the case of an inbound service) or not to expect any call records (as in the case for Platform Access charges, licence charges etc).

Call Rates - Here you can list any ‘default’ Call Rates for the service

Bill Only From Selected Sources - If you use multiple carriers, this allows you to bill only from certain carriers. Leaving this blank will cause it bill from all carriers.

Allow only these types of calls - this allows you to limit the call types associated with this service.
